Mark Parker’s Office
New York-based luxury lifestyle magazine Whitewall recently published these photographs of (Nike CEO) Mark Parker's office. Situated within the Nike campus in Portland, Oregon, Parker's workspace is packed full of art and sneakers alike; an inspirational archive which has been amassed in over thirty years of working at Nike.
A Few of My Favourite Sneakers: Toy
After the success of our Top Ten Sneakers by Owen Philips story, we realised that the concept of the piece would make a great ongoing project for Art & Sole. We'd also recently been talking to illustration agency Toy (who we commissioned for this live drawing), so we decided to ask them if they'd do us the honour of drawing their favourite sneakers. Luckily for us, they said yes.
Nike Talaria Chukka
Originally released in 2006, the Talaria Chukka is a perfect example of what NIke does best; innovation. This shoe has always been a favourite with Art & Sole, so obviously we were very excited to hear about this latest release of two brand-new colourways...
Alexandra Bruel
French illustrator Alexandra Bruel recently caught our eye with these sneakers made from modeling clay. With a background in design, Bruel began experimenting with clay a few years ago and has since built up an interesting portfolio of sculpture, animation, textile design photography and illustration.
Art & Sole & Kustaa Saksi
The second in our series of specially commissioned screen-prints is finally here, and it's by Amsterdam-based illustrator and graphic designer Kustaa Saksi. As well as adding the print to our Shop section, we thought we'd show you a little more of Saksi's amazing work here...
Typelace by Rafael Farias
We've just received our contributors copy of The 3D Type Book by Agathe Jacquillat and Tomi Vollauschek at London-based design studio FL@33, and as well as featuring work by Intercity, the book also showcases this ingenious Typelace project by designer Rafael Farias.
