Shinichi Miter & Nike

Drawing obvious parallels to the work of Vinti Andrews, we've just discovered these very interesting sneaker-sculpture projects by Japanese fashion 'stylist' Shinichi Miter.

The sculptures are fabricated entirely from Nike Dunk sneakers, and some of the pieces were shown as part of the Tenki exhibition held in 2010 at the Gallery Speak For in Tokyo, Japan (image shown bottom). The theme of the exhibition was 'continuity', a concept particulary evident in the spiral piece (shown top) which apparently references fractal imagery - fragmented geometric shapes that can be split into parts, each of which is similar to the whole.

Other elements from the show included fashion pieces, chairs, Samurai armour and the excellent hunting trophy - all of which were sculpted using only (Nike Dunk) sneakers.
