From The Book: IRAK NY

The latest in our series of posts taken from the Art & Sole book is this under-the-radar collaboration between adidas and New York graffiti crew IRAK - a name meaning 'I steal'...

IRAK NY began as a graffiti crew in New York City in the mid-1990s, and over the years has developed into a clothing line, establishing the brand as a creative outlet for its members. In 2007, adidas joined forces with IRAK NY for their first collaboration, using the Torsion model as the canvas for their design. The sneaker features a retro colourway, using a grey upper with black, blue, neon yellow and hot red accents.

The Torsion was the model of choice again in 2008 for a second collaboration, this time featuring orange suede, a purple tongue and green accents. Both sneakers feature the word 'IRAK' with the year date on the toe, and only 300 pairs of each model were produced.
