A Few of My Favourite Sneakers: Damien Weighill

After a short intermission, the latest contributor in our AFOMFS series is the very talented Damien Weighill, known for his smart and (in his own words) 'joyfully stupid' illustrations...

We've previously featured Damien for the work he did with adidas on the launch of their Primeknit shoes last year, so it was a natural fit to ask him to be part of AFOMFS. Damien originally comes form the North East of England but now lives and works in London, creating illustrations that are witty and full of ideas for a range of international clients including Cadbury, The Guardian, Sony and, of course, adidas. Currently he is obsessed with drawing fish bowls and classical sculptures - as you can see in a few of the images here.

In order of appearance, Damien has chosen to illustrate the Asics Gel Lyte III, Reebok Pump SXT, Nike Air Tech Challenge, adidas Half Shell, Nike Air Max 90, adidas Samba and the Nike Air Max 93. When we asked Damien why he'd dawn the shoes with a selection of seemingly random objects, he replied simply; 'There's really no explanation for the objects, other than the fact they were things that were fun to draw.'

We hope you like the illustrations created, and thanks again to Damien for taking part. To see more of Damien's work, check out his website here.

Keep watching Art & Sole for the next contributor in 'A Few of My Favourite Sneakers'...
