Clarks & Staple

Inspired by the past, present and future, Clarks Sportswear have teamed up with New York's Staple Design to create a collection of footwear using the Tawyer Helix, Tawyer Twist and Clarks Originals Wallabee silhouettes...

The collaboration pays homage to Clarks' historic roots, whilst heroing innovative elements of the future. Representing the past is the Clarks Originals Wallabee, which comes in Staple's signature pigeon colourway of a grey leather upper and pink/red outsole. The Tawyer Twist represents the present as a modern version of the past with a more subtle design (albeit with a neoprene sockliner), made up from a dark blue suede and leather upper with some very nice details (we especially like the debossed Staple pigeon that features on both tongues).

Finally, the Tawyer Helix represents the future - a shoe which also utilises Staple's pigeon colourway, as well as both the upper and outsole having been created to look almost feather-like in their appearance and shape. This 'feather' construction adds a very unusual element to the design, but one that we really like. The signature Staple pigeon also appears on the outer heel as a very nice extra touch.

See the video below for some extra information and behind-the-scenes footage of the collaboration's process - taken when Jeff Staple visited Clarks in the UK earlier this year
