Modla & Damilola Odusote & Converse

We've previously written about the collaborative work between the 3D printing consultancy Modla and artist Damilola Odusote - when they created their Nike Air Force 1 themed sneaker. Continuing on from that project, the two have once again teamed up to create a new artwork, specially commissioned by Converse...

Bringing multiple ideas together, Odusote and Jon Fidler of Modla researched into the history and influences of the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor All Star to create this unique interpretation of the sneaker. Eveything from how the shoe was supplied to WW2 fighter pilots, to its central role within music and basketball culture is represented within the sculpture. To create the piece, Odusote originally drew the concept in his signature style, which was then brought to life using 3D software, before finally printed using SLS nylon plastic.

We're definitley looking forward to seeing what shoe will be next in this ongoing project...
