adidas & Pharrell
After the Pharrell Williams Supercolor project earlier this year, the next creative project to come from adidas and it's latest brand ambassador is entitled Supershell...
For the project, Pharrell hand-picked creatives from across the globe to rework the Superstar's iconic sillhouette - evolving the Shelltoe element of the shoe into a creative canvas for the very first time in the history of adidas. Interestingly, in addition to (more standard) full-colour printed imagery, the release also saw the artist's work being rendered in a specially-molded 3D Shelltoe - a process that really makes the most of the Superstar's iconic rubber toebox.
Participating creatives include American-based photographer-director Cass Bird, Japanese artist Mr., renowned architect Zaha Hadid (shown above) and New York graphic artist Todd James. Pharrell himself has also created several pairs of Superstars (shown bottom) that explore his interpretation of life, energy and colour.
Released in limted numbers, each adidas & Pharrell Superstar model is still available in both a white and black colourway via the adidas website
