//DIY & Nike

We’ve just spotted this beautiful photographic project, entitled Nike Klein’s Monochromes, by Swiss graphic design studio //DIY. Commissioned to create some imagery for the Nike Switzerland showroom in Bassersdorf, //DIY responded by creating these iconic images of Nike sneaker soles pressed into blue pigment powder.

The pigment colour used is International Klein Blue (IKB), a deep blue hue first mixed by the French artist Yves Klein, and the immortalised imprints belong to a Nike Lunar Wood (the images definitely have lunar connotations), an Air Max 1 and a Dunk. The finished photographic prints were mounted on aluminium, within a 100×150cm balsam fir frame
