James Jarvis & 52 Spheres
As well as creating the first in our series of Art & Sole screen-prints, graphic artist James Jarvis had worked with Intercity previously on the Souvenir project, painting an entire skatepark shortly before it was demolished. As part of the project Jarvis also created an edition of 50 signed and numbered lino-cut prints which were given away to the local skaters - and it was this hands-on element of the project that has inspired Jarvis' latest undertaking, the ambitious task of publishing a small edition of lino-cut prints for every week of 2011.
Entitled 52 Spheres, each print is based around Jarvis’ minimalist 'sphere' character, who also makes an appearance in our Sole Inspector print. Limited to seven editions for each lino-cut (one for each day of the week), the prints are 10cm square on A4 paper and will be available throughout 2011 at the very affordable price of £15.
