A Few of My Favourite Sneakers: Rich Fairhead
It's that time again - the next chapter in our ongoing series 'A Few of My Favourite Sneakers' is here, and this time the honours fall to London-based illustrator Rich Fairhead.
We first became aware of Fairhead's work through his contribution to Paul Jenkins' excellent Nike78 art project. Then, when we were in contact with Fairhead earlier this year, we had the bright idea of asking him to take part in our very own project about art and sneakers...
Rather than simply concentrating on just the sneakers themselves, Fairhead's concept has been to render each of his favourite shoes in the charming style of old hand-painted Spanish market signs. In order of appearance, the shoes in the starring roles are:
Nike Air Max Light
adidas Forest Hills
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Low
For those interested, we've also added one of Fairhead's works to the Art & Sole shop. The 420 x 297mm artwork is available in a signed/stamped edition of 50 and is giclée printed onto 308gsm Hahnemuhle paper. To see more, or to purchase the print, click here.
As always, we hope you enjoy the work shown, and thanks again to Rich Fairhead for his all hard work and a really great set of images.
Keep watching Art & Sole for the next installation of A 'Few of My Favourite Sneakers'...
