A Few of My Favourite Sneakers: Tim Easley
At last we can show you the latest instalment in our specially commissioned artwork series 'A Few of My Favourite Sneakers' - and this time it's an inspired collection of sneaker-characters by London-based illustrator Tim Easley...
A self taught designer, illustrator and photographer, Easley's background is very much intertwined with sneaker culture - as some of his previous work (including his excellent 8-bit Sneaker prints) makes clear. Hand-drawn lettering, bright colours and bold lines are a common theme in Tim's work - which has at one point been referered to as 'uniquely imaginative' (a term which could certainly be used to sum up the work shown here).
For our AFOMFS project, Tim has chosen to illustrate five characters based around (Nike) sneaker models, including (in order of appearance) the Air Max 1, Dunk High, Dunk Low, Roshe Run and Waffle Racer. 'I've always thought sneakers had different personalities,' explains Tim, 'from how they fit, to how they look, the materials they're constructed from and their evolution over time. For this reason I see sneakers as almost being alive, and so I thought I should draw them as such - with each one participating in a different activity!'
As we like the prints so much, we’ve made all five of the artworks available in the Art & Sole shop. Created as an open edition, the artworks are giclée printed onto 308gsm Hahnemuhle paper and are A&S stamped for authenticity. To see more, or to purchase a print, click here.
Thanks again to Tim Easley for giving us such a great contribution to the project.
