Haroshi & Nike

This pair of Nike Dunks are actually wooden sculptures by Haroshi, an artist who’s made his name creating work from recycled skateboards. The shoes were created from old skateboard decks that have been used by Nike pro riders including P-Rod, Lance Mountain, Eric Koston, Cory Kennedy, Justin Brock and many others.

The Dunks were modelled on Haroshi’s own sneakers, with every detail faithfully replicated. Even the insole and inside of the shoes have been meticulously recreated. In addition there are two hidden messages within the shoes; “Kick x Kick”, which references the fact that the curvature of the skateboard decks (otherwise know as the kick) accurately matches the curvature of the sneakers; and “Sole in Soul”, which apparently can only be found by x-ray scanning.
