Jon Boam & Nike MAG
As you may have noticed, our Shop section has an excellent new addition. This limited edition giclée print by artist/illustrator Jon Boam was inspired by our ongoing series 'A Few of My Favourite Sneakers', and celebrates the recent Nike MAG sneaker release...
The Nike MAG is the mythical sneaker that originally captured imaginations in the film Back to the Future II, and as we're sure you know, Nike have recently released 1500 pairs of the shoes in a charity auction for the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
In light of the release, we asked Boam if he'd rework his original artwork from the 'A Few of My Favourite Sneakers' series (which can be seen here), to create a special limited-edition print especially for Art & Sole. The resulting artwork has been giclée-printed onto A4, 308gsm Hahnemuhle paper and is stamped, signed and numbered (as an edition of 50) by the artist.
UK-based John Boam loves to draw characters and strange magical/technological objects. Among other things, his work references the themes of super powers, madness, time travel, mutants, monsters, aliens, futuristic space technology, magic, secret caves, enchanted forests, robots, ghosts, worm-holes, insects, dinosaurs, animals and villains.
