Nike & ESPO

Created in 2004 by Philadelphia and New York graffiti legend Steve Powers (aka ESPO - Exterior Surface Painting Outreach), this unique Air Force 2 Low is a shoe we've always wanted to feature on here the blog...

The collaboration references ESPO's signature style and features advertisement banner-like graphics on the heel and the translucent outsole. Originally part of an artists series (including other collaborations from Pharrell and Hally Berry), ESPO's Air Force 2 was actually the first time a Nike shoe had featured a clear upper - a concept that went on to be used for many other limited release shoes from the brand. To compliment this innovation, the shoes also came with a special pair of blue socks - as shown below. Released in an edition of 1050, proceeds from the shoes were donated to God's Love We Deliver - a charity (chosen by ESPO) that distributed meals to those in need.
