Nike Roshe Run iD
The Zen-inspired Nike Roshe Run seems to be a favourite among artists and designers alike (including us here at Art & Sole), so we thought we should mention that a customisable version has just launched over on the excellent NIKEiD website...
The Roshe Run is already a very interesting shoe - inspired by the practice of meditation and the concept of Zen, the shoe has no embellishments and was created to ‘epitomises simplicity’. Almost every part of the shoe reflects an aspect of a Zen garden, including a waffle outsole that’s made to look like stepping stones and an insole that mirrors a raked rock garden.
This simplicity means that the customisation options are fewer than some other models, but the ability to change details such as the heel and tongue loops (individually), as well as larger areas such as the overlay and toe-box, make this a very interesting and striking shoe to colour.
The exclusive iD colour palette ranges from sophisticated pastel tones such as Arctic Green, to brighter and more playful hues such as Atomic Pink (as seen above). In addition, there are two versions of the shoe available (for either men, women, boys or girls); a standard mesh build (£95) or a premium suede option (£100) for those who like a little more luxury.
