Nike Women’s City Collection

Celebrating the cities of London, Milan, New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Shanghai, this subtly graphic collection of Air Force 1’s features a stitched street map on the leather upper of each shoe - referencing the specific and unique layouts of each city…

This isn’t an artist or designer collaboration – but we spotted this collection in our local footwear store and think the concept is so good it’s worth showing here on the A&S website. The collection features six variants of the Air Force 1 (three high and three low), each rendered in a bold monotone colourway influenced by one of the six style capitals. In a very nice touch, the colour choices are inspired by antique maps and local history - paying homage to tradition. The London Air Force 1 low uses a subdued version of British racing green, the Tokyo shoe references the vibrant red of the Japanese flag, Milan’s shoe gives a nod to the ochre colour common in renaissance paintings, the Paris shoe uses French blue, antique red is used for Shanghai and, finally, the New York shoe is an ode to the classic white on white.

In addition to the street map stitching, each shoe also features a subtle circle on the map, marking out the most prominent Nike retail location in that particular city. A geometric all-over print pattern on the sock liner also highlights each city's iconic architecture.
