MSTRPLN® Minimal Sneaker Prints

A new series of eight art prints, entitled the Minimal Sneaker Project, sees Stefan Dukaczewski of design practice MSTRPLN® take an extremely minimal graphic approach to some of the most iconic footwear from the late 80s and early 90s…

The artworks feature a selection of celebrated Nike sneaker models and colourways appropriated into modern minimalist design layouts, including the Nike Safari and Air Max 95 (shown top), the Nike Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Jordan 4 and ACG Mowabb - see if you can guess which is which.

As for the inspiration for this print series, Dukaczewski has been a designer for the past 12 years and has always had a strong connection to sneaker culture. ‘Growing up in the 80s and 90s,’ he explains, ‘I had a lot of exposure to both street and sport culture, and the common bond between those two lifestyles always ended up with what was on your feet. I’d always wanted to do a project that had some type of relationship to the iconic Nike sneakers from the mid 80s to the mid 90s, and as I like to use a minimalistic design style with my work, I thought it would be fitting to try and apply that to this project.'

Dukaczewski has used the colourways of classic sneakers in a way that means they could be incorporated into any environment, with those people who follow sneaker and street culture being able to instantly make the connection to what they represent. Future plans include a second series in the not too distant future...

The Minimal Sneaker Project prints are available in three different formats; Gallery Quality Print, Stretched Canvas, and Gallery Quality Framed Art Print. Click here to find out more

This has touched me deeply. I love it. I wish I didn’t work for such a boring company.
