Vans & Huichol

This very special collaboration has just been launched by Vans Vault, who have worked with the Huichol tribe from the western central highlands of Mexico to create a duo of limited-edition shoes: a Sk8-Hi LX and a Classic Slip-On LX...

Isolated from today's modern world, the Huichol tribe have passed on their artistry traditions through the centuries and are most famously known for their embroidery, beadwork and yarn paintings. Vans have worked closely with the tribe in a celebration of these traditions - creating what we think is one of Vans' more stand-out collaborations.

The collaboration blends Van's design heritage with the complex craftsmanship of the Huichol tribe and it took 10 months overall to complete, with the tribe creating handmade embellishments of Vans' most iconic silhouettes - elaborately embroidering and beading the two models. Watch the video below for further insight into the Huichol tribe and the overall craftmanship of the collaboration.

Only 360 pairs of the Vans & Huichol capsule have been made available at selected Vans Vault accounts worldwide, including Vans DQM General, Bodega and Opening Ceremony
