Vans & Supreme
This month saw the release of Supreme's most recent collaboration with Vans. Created to coincide with the Supreme SS13 apparel collection, the pack of three shoes utilises the original album artwork from New Order's iconic 1983 release Power, Corruption & Lies...
The album's cover was originally designed by renowned British art director Peter Saville (who has also previously worked with Supreme on their artist series of skateboards, using theJoy Division Unknown Pleasures artwork) and featured the painting A Basket of Roses by 19th century french artist Henri Fantin-Latour. The original sleeve is shown below, the top right corner of which famously features a unique colour-based code created by Saville to represent the band's name and title of the album.
The Vans and Supreme collaboration consists of three silhouettes; a Sk8-Hi, an Era and a Chukka - all of which are adorned in an all-over print of the artwork. The Chukka and the Era feature canvas uppers with leather lining and insoles, while the Sk8-Hi features premium suede/canvas uppers again with a leather lining and insole
