Vans & UBIQ & Ron English

Released over the weekend, this project between Vans, UBIQ and prolific street artist Ron English is an outstanding collaboration. English has been called 'the godfather of street art' and you can certainly see why with this excellent 'Camo Deer' release...

Credited with using graffiti as an intricate and decorative form of visual expression, Vans and UBIQ obviously realised that it would make sense to partner with English. Using the classic silhouettes of the Vans Sk8 Hi LX and the Era LX, the two shoes incorporate English's artwork of a deer wearing the very camoflauge pattern that is usually worn by its hunters.

Both shoes feature a model of a deer painted entirely in red, orange, yellow, green and black camouflage - set against the backdrop of an autumn forest. On the Sk8 Hi LX, the Camo Deer roams between the black suede panels, whilst the full scenery of the woods covers the entire canvas of the Era LX. As part of the project, UBIQ interviewed the artist in his New York studio, the results of which can be seen in the video below...

The Vans & UBIQ & Ron English Camo Deer collection was released 20 June 2015 and is still available in selected sizes via UBIQ's online store here
